► VP Communications
Hi, my name is Anant Naik, and I will be your new Vice President Communications in the RSU this year.
I chose to run for the position for a number of reasons, first and foremost, it seemed natural after studying a combined Photography and Journalism programme here at Roehampton, and secondly as I had understudied the role during my final two years, working part time as a Newspaper Editor and later, as a Publicity Officer. This year I intend to build upon the success and hard work of the previous VP Communications.
Primarily, it is my role to ensure that all union activities and concerns are publicised to the student body. This includes everything from advertising student services and academic support, through to the large variety of societies and sports the activities department has to offer, or the social events that the RSU host throughout the coming year.
Another vital ingredient of the Communications department is representation, I aim to ensure this for you guys by making use of established mediums such as the student News-paper ‘Fresh’ as well as newsletters, flyers and other publications which promote a diverse range of student content, as well as embarking on new audiovisual possibilities. I am very excited about the future of the RSU, and look forward to working with as many of you as possible over the coming year.
