► VP Activites

Hello everyone, I’m Natasha Blake and I am the new Vice President Activities for the academic year 2009/2010

What Do I Do?
My role basically consists of making sure that you are provided with activities and trips away throughout the year, I also make sure that societies and sports teams are run efficiently and have the best intentions for students in the long run.

What Meetings Do I Sit On?
During my term in position I sit on Weekly Student Sport Management Group (SSMG) meetings to correspond with sports captains and discuss their team’s progress and needs. I also sit on Bi weekly societies meetings with the society’s president (Luke Springett), discussing various issues and topics societies may have throughout the year.

My role in the Union
Hello one and all, welcome to Roehampton University. My Name is Natasha Blake and I am the new Vice President of Activities. I Graduated with a BA in drama and theatre studies and was also elected as one of the Unions Entertainments officers. I have also been fortunate enough to be involved with the Roehampton women’s rugby team as well as broaden my acting skills as a member of the Roehampton Players.
My role within the union consists of running three main areas; Societies, Sports and ‘Give it a Go’. All of these areas are available for all Roehampton university students, and provide a wide range of involvement for enhancing the body and mind. With Societies you can really engage in socialising, creating new skills and developing relationships with other students and staff. If a society doesn’t exist and you want to create one, you can initiate a new club, society or event through me and the student Union. Sports is a great way to broaden your physical mind, enhance skills and develop a relationship working in a team, there are plenty of teams to choose from and each has a strong commitment to achieving the best. The ‘Give it a Go’ scheme was set up to provide students with the opportunity to participate in different areas of activities, there are three categories; Activities, Volunteering and Trips away. Each providing a vast range of events and Activities such as trips to Amsterdam and Newquay, learning how to cook and learn a new language, gaining First aid coaching qualifications, getting involved with local and wide ranged Charities, the list goes on. The ‘Give it Go’ scheme is thriving and has something for everyone at Roehampton.
