Introduction

“Enhancing the experience of Roehampton Students through representation, development, activities and support”

Roehampton Students’ Union is your Union. The RSU is your direct link to promoting positive changes around the University, from campaigns through to societies, activities and the welfare of yourself and your fellow students. RSU is a student led organisation, at the fore front of our work and planning are our main objectives:

• Promoting the interests and welfare of Students at Roehampton University during their course of study and representing, supporting and advising Students

• Being the recognised representative channel between Students and Roehampton University and any other external bodies; and

• Providing social, cultural, sporting and recreational activities and forums for discussions and debate for the personal development of its Students.

The majority of work and planning to achieve our objectives is carried about Student Union Council and its members all of whom are students; this consists of four sabbaticals and twenty six part time officers. Each member of SUC needs to be elected by student body and they will hold a term of office until the following elections a year later. RSU is split into five following clear and extinguishable zones, Academic Zone, Welfare & Community Zone, Activities Zone, Communication Zone and Campaign Zone.

To ensure that RSU is delivering its objectives, adhering to legal framework and financially stable we have full time staff that support the union and a Board of Trustees that oversees the union. The Trustee Board is very much student led with four Officer Trustees (Sabbaticals), two student trustees and four external trustees carefully recruited to offer expertise. (Please note RSU are currently recruiting our Student & External Trustees)
