Green Impact Awards
Formerly known as the Sound Environmental Impact Awards, the Green Impact Students’ Union programme is an accreditation scheme for environmental best-practice in Students’ Unions. The scheme seeks to encourage, nurture, reward and celebrate good environmental practice in students’ unions.
In the past few years, the RSU has taken an active role in environmental and ethical issues as a result of gaining a greater understanding of our responsibilities as individuals and as an organisation. In 2009/10 RSU entered the sound impact awards for the first time achieving Bronze accreditation for our effort and participation with the scheme and this year we are targeting Silver accreditation.
Best Bar None Awards
RSU always consider the welfare of our students when planning events and our social calendar, we implement many systems to ensure you have a safe time. The Best Bar None Awards rewards, promotes and recognises the efforts that Students’ Unions place on Corporate Social Responsibility.
The aim of the scheme is to promote responsible management of the bars and clubs run by unions and in doing so, recognise and reward good practice. In 2009/10 RSU entered the Best Bar None Awards for the first time and awarded the Bronze accreditation, in 2010/11 we aim to enter again and with our target attaining Silver standard.
